Call for Artists: 2010 Annual Northfield Arts Guild Members' Exhibition
One of the benefits of membership at the Northfield Arts Guild is the opportunity to exhibit your original artwork in the Annual Members' Exhibition. This exhibition takes place during the holidays to take advantage of the gift giving season. We invite you to submit one or two unique pieces of your own work (or one piece if it is over 4 feet square) to be included in this show. This invitation is only open to current adult members of the Guild; if your membership is lapsed we invite you to renew your membership at http://www.northfieldartsguild.org/index.php?content=join.
This year’s exhibition dates are December 15, 2010 to January 8, 2011. All work should be brought to the Northfield Arts Guild gallery Monday, December 13th between 10:00am and 5:00pm. In addition, each piece must be ready to display: 2D works need to be framed and wired and hanging textiles must be configured with the appropriate hardware. No work can be accepted after December 13th. If this is an inconvenient date for you, please have someone else deliver the work or call the office to make arrangements to bring your work before this date.
When dropping off artwork, please include the title, media, size, date, and retail sale price (including the 40% gallery commission) information for each piece. Work that is not ready to display or exceptionally fragile will be excluded from the show; please submit your work accordingly. Anyone who has a digital image (at a resolution of at least 300 dpi) of the work they intend to show, please send it to our office by November 15th for it to be considered for the postcard. Images at lower resolutions will not render clearly on the cards.
The opening reception will be Friday, December 17th from 7pm – 9pm and light refreshments will be served. As many visitors make their way to Northfield during the holidays, we are thrilled to feature our Members’ artwork in this Guild exhibition!
CALENDAR FOR 2010 MEMBER SHOW:
Monday, November 15th: Digital images of artwork (at 300 dpi) emailed to juliane@northfieldartsguild.org or burned on CD and sent to the Guild. Please note that this email account can receive up to 3MB of attachments per email.
Monday, December 13th, 2010: Deliver work to the Northfield Arts Guild Gallery between 10:00am – 5:00pm. All work needs to be ready to display or it will be omitted from the show.
Wednesday, December 15th, 2010: Exhibit opens to the public
Friday, December 17th, 2010: Opening Reception from 7:00pm – 9:00pm
Saturday, January 8th, 2011: Last day to view exhibit
Monday, January 10th, 2011: Pick up work at the Guild from 10:00am – 1:00pm. The gallery needs to be cleared to prepare the walls before the next show goes up on the 11th.
