Award-Winning New York Times Journalist to Present Carleton Convocation
Lowell Bergman, an award-winning investigative reporter with the New York Times, will present the Carleton College convocation at 10:50 a.m. on Friday, January 15, in the Skinner Memorial Chapel. Carleton’s weekly convocations are free and open to the public.

His projects have included investigations on the war on drugs, the credit card and gold industries, the rise of Islamic fundamentalism, the domestic energy crisis, and Al Qaeda attacks on Europe. His other television work includes 14 years as a producer for CBS’s “60 Minutes,” and he helping to launch ABC News’ “20/20.” Bergman is also a co-founder of the nonprofit Center for Investigative Reporting. normal"> "Times New Roman";mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman""> normal"> "Times New Roman";mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"">Regarded as a journalist of the first rank, Bergman has won prizes for reporting in a variety of media, including a Pulitzer Prize for Public Service, Emmys, Peabodys, and a Writer’s Guild Award.
