Acclaimed Trío Montecino Ensemble to Perform in Concert at Carleton College

Trío Montecino, an acclaimed chamber music ensemble renowned for its exclusive devotion to repertoires specifically for clarinet, piano, and cello, will perform in the Concert Hall at Carleton College on Friday, Oct. 8, at 8 p.m. The program will feature clarinet repertoire staples composed by Bruch and Beethoven, as well as new works commissioned for the trio by Ecuadorian composer Lucía Patiño and American Michael Wittgraf (Carleton Class of 1985). This evening of live music is free and open to the public.

 

Trío Montecino features clarinetist David Shea, cellist Pablo Mahave-Veglia, and pianist Paulina Zamora. The trio first met and began to play together as students at the Indiana University School of Music. Within only a few years of establishing themselves as a chamber music ensemble, Trío Montecino performs nationally and internationally, and has released 2 CD recordings on the Eroica label.
