We fill the Armory with mats, balls and a variety of play equipment so children can climb, bounce, and crawl around the entire gym. This is an open gym program for parents/guardians and kids ages 6 and under.

A love of delicious and healthy homemade food starts a young age when kids can get their hands dirty in the kitchen whipping up their own concoctions. Focus is on building eating habits that are healthy and good for the environment. Parents are welcome and encouraged to participate at no additional cost.

We will have working on skills, teamwork and game situations. Participants should bring a water bottle and kneepads. If any parents have played volleyball, we welcome volunteers. Equipment is age appropriate (soft sticks and larger pucks).

We load the Armory gym with games, balls, matss and climbing equipment and create a healthy environment for the kids to play and providers to network. Participation in these sessions counts toward ongoing licensure with Rice County. This program is a partnership with Rice County Public Health and EcoTrans. Transportation to the Armory is available. Due to expense, transportation at this time is only provided for Northfield and Dundas providers. Is your provider providing this benefit? Ask them to participate!
Tuesdays, Oct 23-Dec 18 9:00-11:30am National Guard Armory Providers with 6+ kids: $30 a week Providers with 3-5 kids: $20 a week Providers not needing transportation assistance: $15 a week Providers with high rate county assistance or less than 3 kids: $12 a week Intrigued with how one’s perception of an object or surface changes when it is photographed at a close range, Laura literally and figuratively focuses on “the seemingly unremarkable, sometimes ugly leavings of everyday life: rust and grime, deposits and spills, mildew and decay,” to reveal “the art in accident and the ubiquity of beauty.” Laura prints her images on canvas to create a painterly effect. This gallery is located near the lab waiting area at Allina Medical Clinic of Northfield at 1440 Jefferson Road. Regular Clinic Hours are 7 am to 8 pm Monday through Thursday, 7 am to 7 pm Fridays, and 9 am to 3 pm Saturdays. Tom Maakestad / John Maakestad Pastels and Paintings Tom Maakestad’s scenes of Northfield and recent work of the late John Maakestad. The opening reception will be held on Friday, November 2nd from 7:00-9:00pm, with a Gallery Talk the same evening from 7:00-7:30pm. Exercise the sillies out of your kids with Open Gym fun- basketballs, scooters and much more. Supervised program for elementary age kids. Free time and great exercise! Parents, join your kids for some afternoon fun!
