Arts Guild Member Randy Mitchell exhibits his wood carvings. A Northfield native, Randy recalls childhood winters filled with sledding days and quiet snowscapes. “My show is to bring back the good old times of a warm heart and the view of a fresh start that comes from a winter scene in one’s own mind.” This gallery is located near the lab waiting area at Allina Medical Clinic of Northfield at 1440 Jefferson Road. Regular Clinic Hours are 7 am to 8 pm Monday through Thursday, 7 am to 7 pm Fridays, and 9 am to 3 pm Saturdays. NC3–Natural Connections x3 showcases ceramic sculpture by Claudia Poser, works on paper by Dale Vanden Houten, and photographs by Cate Vermeland. All of the artists' work in this show is inspired by the natural world, resulting in a rich variety of textured surfaces and color. A Gallery Talk featuring the NC3 artists will be held on June 29 from 7:00-7:30pm. This event is open to the public. The Northfield Arts Guild Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 10am – 5pm and Saturdays and Sundays 11am – 3pm. The Members' Room hosts Wabi-Sabi: An American Adaptation, featuring Tom Willis' Japanese style Raku pottery and Judy Saye-Willis' textiles, which are made using a variety of Japanese techniques. Tom finds the unpredictability of Raku firing engaging, while Judy is drawn to the unending possibilities of color and patterning available in Shibori dyeing. The Northfield Arts Guild Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 10am – 5pm and Saturdays and Sundays 11am – 3pm. Start: Jul 11 2012 8:45 am
