Arts Guild Member Randy Mitchell exhibits his wood carvings. A Northfield native, Randy recalls childhood winters filled with sledding days and quiet snowscapes. “My show is to bring back the good old times of a warm heart and the view of a fresh start that comes from a winter scene in one’s own mind.” This gallery is located near the lab waiting area at Allina Medical Clinic of Northfield at 1440 Jefferson Road. Wiffle Ball (ages 3-5 & ages K -3rd grade) Popular backyard, sandlot, picnic game! Wiffle Ball is a variation of baseball and played using a perforated, light-weight, rubbery plastic ball and ‘fat’ bat. Learn skills, develop friendships and have a ton of fun and exercise. First Steps Early Literacy Center A parent or caregiver-directed activity center where toddlers and preschoolers are surrounded by alphabet manipulatives, concept books, board books and puzzles, all designed to be a fun learning experience. First Steps is open every Monday, Friday and Saturday. It is dependent on volunteers, but if the door is closed and you would like to use the room please ask at the circulation desk and you will be let in. It is the parent/caregiver’s responsibility to straighten the room up upon departure. If you are interesting in volunteering please contact the library!
