Exhibition Dates: Wednesday, May 30 – June 16, 2012
The opening reception will take place on Friday, June 1 from 7-9pm, with an 8pm performance by Catty Wampus, the high school’s female choral group. The Northfield Arts Guild Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 10am – 5pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 11am – 3pm. Arts Guild Member Randy Mitchell exhibits his wood carvings. A Northfield native, Randy recalls childhood winters filled with sledding days and quiet snowscapes. “My show is to bring back the good old times of a warm heart and the view of a fresh start that comes from a winter scene in one’s own mind.” This gallery is located near the lab waiting area at Allina Medical Clinic of Northfield at 1440 Jefferson Road. Regular Clinic Hours are 7 am to 8 pm Monday through Thursday, 7 am to 7 pm Fridays, and 9 am to 3 pm Saturdays. The 2012 History Camp will be held at the Rice County Historical Society June 11 – 15, 8:30 am to 12:00pm, except onThursday when the time will be extended until 3:00 pm for a field trip. Y Kids Tri (ages 6-14) The 3rd annual "Y Kids Tri" is a triathlon for kids (swim, bike, & run)! No experience is necessary and it's a non-competitive event that's all about having FUN and feeling GREAT about crossing the finish line! DISTANCES: Ages 6-7 swim 50 meters (zero depth entry), bike 1.25 miles, and run 1/4 mile. Ages 8-10 swim 50 meters (one length), bike 2.5 miles, and run 1/2 mile. Ages 11-14 swim 100 meters (one lap), bike 5 miles, and run 1 mile. Everyone will receive a Y Kids Tri T-Shirt, Swim Cap, and Medal! Wee & U4 Soccer (ages 3-4)
What’s more fun than soccer and preschoolers? Two separate programs will be offered for 3 year olds and for U4 (four year olds). This is a collaboration with the Northfield Soccer Association. Practice and Games will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evening for 14 sessions. Wee 3 Soccer (3 year olds) U4 Soccer (4 year olds) June 12 – July 26 (14 sessions) Tue & Thur 5:30-6:15 pm
