On Saturday, 14th April, at 7:00 pm, in Tomson Hall 280, on the St. Olaf Campus Dr. Mads Gilbert will describe and review the experiences that lie behind his book, Eyes in Gaza.  His talk will provide a reminder of the nature of modern warfare, the kind of life led by Palestinians trapped in Gaza, and the lengths to which Israel will go to assert its domination over them.  Dr. Gilbert will answer questions after his talk. Copies of his book will be on sale.  Refreshments will be served.

Dr. Gilbert is Professor and Clinical Head of Emergency Medicine at the University of North Norway, Tromsø, Norway.  He is considered by many Norwegians, and others, to be the country's most celebrated surgeon.  This is based not only on his clinical and professional skills, but also on his record of international humanitarian activism and courage.
