Art in Bloom is on the circuit of this year's Northfield Garden Club Garden Tour.  Eleven talented and generous artists have created twelve original handmade vases to hold floral arrangements.  Northfield Garden Club members have created lovely fresh floral  arrangements to complement these distinctive ceramic, glass, and metal vases.

The vases and arrangements will be on display at the Northfield Arts Guild booth at Riverwalk Market Fair on Saturday, June 25th (weather permitting).  Then, join us for a reception from 1pm - 3pm to celebrate the artists and arrangers in the Arts Guild Shop.  Silent Auction:  You'll have a chance to take home one of these vessels by placing bids; all proceeds from this auction benefit Arts Guild programming.  The auction runs Saturday, June 25 through Friday, July 1 at 1 pm.  Winning bidders will be notified on July 5th.

“WWW.,” an innovative exhibit showcasing Upper Midwest fiber and textile artists, will be held June 29th through August 6th, with a Grand Opening Reception on Friday, July 8, from 6 - 9 p.m. at the Northfield Arts Guild. This diverse collection of work explores how the internet has altered contemporary experience, changing human relations and how we process time and experience.  A not-to-be-missed event! Northfield Arts Guild, 304 Division Street, Northfield, www.northfieldartsguild.org.

For the twenty-first summer in a row, there is an inordinately creative group of young people writing original dramatic works in our fair city.  Over the years, the Northfield Arts Guild’s Young People’s Theater Workshop has grown into a Northfield tradition.

This Workshop, often referred to as YPTW, offers classes in theater arts from acting to dance and movement to improvisation, all taught by talented and committed theater and education professionals.  On top of the education offered to the participants of the Workshop, the young people write original plays, rehearse them, and perform them for the general public!  These plays are sometimes silly, sometimes thought-provoking, and sometimes important social commentary.  What the plays always include are the thoughts and creativity of the young people involved.

Northfield Home Care, a service of Northfield Hospital & Clinics, is offering a practical class for caregivers Tuesday, July 12, 2 to 4 p.m. at the Northfield Senior Center, 1561 Jefferson Parkway.<?xml:namespace prefix = o />

What's better than a walk, a book and a snack in the morning? We will hike from the armory to a nearby park, where we will stretch out on the lawn and enjoy a book or two chosen by the Y staff. Then, we'll share a snack (which we will supply) and have a little playtime. To wrap up the morning, we will hike back to the armory and say goodbye! This is an adult/child class. Don't forget you water bottle!

The Holy Land Film Festival concludes  on Tuesday 12th July with a showing of Budrus.  This documentary follow the citizens of Budrus when they realize that Israel's Separation barrier will destroy their romote village, and they orangize members of Fatah, Hamas as well as Israeli suppporters to fight back with a non-violent protest against the massive fence.
