Lansing HardwareA few days ago Elaine Thurston told me about the "decommissioning" of the Lansing Hardware store. She said: "Grateful customers, friends, neighbors, citizens will gather in the Lansing Hardware parking lot to help the mayor and David lock their doors for the last time. Bring picnic suppers if you will, but bring trash bags and brooms, too. There will be grills and music and a ceremony. Wednesday evening, April 30 from 6:00 to 9:00. The purpose: to celebrate their years of good service to Northfielders."

End: 9:00 pm

cohousingLearn about a possible cohousing project in the Northfield area from 7 to 9 pm, Wednesday, April 30 in the meeting room of the Northfield Public Library (210 Washington Street) at an informational meeting hosted by Sustainable Community Solutions.

Cohousing is a type of collaborative housing that provides the opportunity for people to live together as a close-knit neighborhood while maintaining all the benefits of private home ownership. It is characterized by private residences with all the features of conventional homes (kitchen, living-dining room, bedrooms), but with access to extensive common facilities, including a community house.
