Jan Vicar

This is the last weekend for the ArtOrg gallery exhibit "Czech Printmaking 2008". Here is a photoset of the opening of the show, which was a big success--drawing about 200 people. Friday, April 25 from 5 to 7pm, and Saturday and Sunday April 26-27 from 1 to 4pm is the last chance to see this wonderful show--and take home some wonderful art created over 4500 miles away!. We also put one of the main artists, Jan Vicar, up on our gallery site, so see a few pieces of Jan's work here.

Start: 7:00 pm
End: 9:00 pm

garbage posterJoin Just Food Co-op for a free showing of the unique documentary Garbage! The Revolution Starts at Home (rated G).

"Garbage! The Revolution Starts at Home," is a new feature length documentary by filmmaker Andrew Nisker. It candidly portrays the threat to our environment as the Mcdonald family tracks their waste output for three months. As they discover where their garbage goes and at what cost to the environment. The Mcdonald household engages the audience with an open-door reality-check. It includes meticulous tracking of consumption and waste, right down to the children's lunchboxes, that results in not only candid comments, but also some rather enlightening and even humorous moments.
