Come learn how a west side neighborhood has begun sharing everything from tools and games to trucks and trailers, and building community along the way. Attendees that are preregistered on or before Monday, April 21, will be given template documents that you can use to start your own neighborhood share. Held Tuesday, April 22 at 7 p.m. in the Just Food Event Space (previously the Mercantile) 516 Water St. S.

Submitted by The River City Raven

chicago cubsWe may have had a lousy start to spring, but baseball season continues at my favorite local book haunt. That’s because Steve Johnson, author of Chicago Cubs Yesterday & Today, will appear at River City Books at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, for a discussion and book signing.

“Chicago Cubs” is an exploration of the life and times of one of the most recognizable franchises in professional sports. Pairing historical black-and-white images with photographs of the modern game, the book celebrates more than a century of ups and (mostly) downs in the history of a team known for its diehard fans.

The Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys, a choral ensemble from New York that is considered one of the finest in the world, will perform at St. Olaf College Tuesday, April 22.

The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Boe Memorial Chapel. The 14 men of the choir are professional singers and the 25 boys attend the Saint Thomas Choir School, the only church-affiliated residential choir school in the United States and one of only four such schools remaining in the world. The choir school offers extensive musical training for boys in grades three through eight. Members include John Carson, 12, son of St. Olaf faculty member Catherine Rodland '87.
