YMCA Run/Walk Program-10 Weeks to your First 5K (Safe, Healthy Progress-Run & Love It)

Running is a ton of FUN and so good for your health (full body health)!  The trick is preparing your mind and body so you can enjoy the exercise and your body can achieve the maximum benefit.

This program is a progressive walk to run program for all those interested in running their first 5K (or brushing back up to one).  It's geared towards beginners and is a tried and true program to move you from walking to running over 10 weeks.

It is important that you prepare for this program by walking actively before starting with us May 27th.  We'll begin to do some running the first night (short intervals, at a slow pace).

How can you make running a lifestyle change?  Studies have shown-exercise with someone - run with someone and you are more apt to stick with it so grab a friend, neighbor or relative and join us!

Wed evenings 6:30-7:30

Location:  We'll start at the YMCA Health & Wellness Fitness Center (900 Cannon Valley Drive - on the campus of the Northfield Retirement Community, near Greenvale Elementary School).

YMCA Members:  $10 (for all 10 weeks!)

Nonmembers:  $15 (for all 10 weeks!)
