World's Largest Steam Locomotive is coming to Northfield

Steam LocomotiveUnion Pacific Railroad's "Challenger" No. 3985, the world's largest operating steam locomotive, will be in Northfield at 1:30 pm on Friday, September 26. The locomotive is on a five-state, 1,750-mile tour from Cheyenne, WY to St. Paul, MN to celebrate railroad heritage. The train will be in town for just a half-hour whistle stop at Sechler Park.

Check before you go

Apparently the train can get ahead of schedule, so go to the UP site (noted in the story) to check location via GPS.
