Weekend Happenings: January

Attention! Please note that the 3rd Annual Defeat of Groundhog Day show at the Rueb has been cancelled!

On Friday, Alexandra Jamieson will present a convocation in Skinner Chapel at Carleton at 10:50 a.m. Occasional Jazz is playing the Contented Cow from 4:30-6:30 p.m., followed by Spruce Top Review from 7-10. The Tavern Lounge is hosting The Bellered Yellers from 7-11. Posaunenstadt!, a faculty recital for trombones, is happening in Concert Hall at Carleton from 8-9:30 p.m.

There is a Full Moon Snowshoe Night Hike on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at River Bend Nature Center in Faribault. Also in Faribault is Ray Charles Revisited at 7 p.m. at the Paradise Center for the Arts. Norwegian Cowboy is playing the Tavern Lounge from 7-11 p.m. and the Northfield Public Library is hosting Carleton's Cinese Music Ensemble beginning at 7:30 p.m. The Bratlanders are playing the Rueb at 9 and Burning Chrome is playing the Contented Cow.

The Humane Society is having a pancake breatfast at the Eagles Club on Sunday from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Laura Caviani will be featured in a faculty recital at Carleton in Concert Hall from 3-4 p.m.

Tune in to KYMN radio on Monday morning at 7:45 as the results of the Northfield's Best of 2009 survey are unveiled! The February guide will hit the shelves later that day.
