war kidsFor months, Children's Culture Connection has been hard at work developing a new program for our in-house charity, War Kids Relief, that will provide peace-building opportunities for US and Iraqi youth.

The good news is that we are ready to officially unveil the program at an event coming up on Tuesday, November 11, in Northfield, Minnesota.

This groundbreaking project will connect youth in Washington DC, New York City and Northfield, MN with kids in the Iraqi cities of Baghdad, Kirkuk and Suleimanya through a creative three-month culutral exchange.

Program directors Charles London (author and expert on children from war torn nations) and Sandra Hakim (Baghdad native) will be in town on Nov. 11 to share the details of the project.

6:30-7:15pm @ River City Books, Division Street, Northfield
First, Charles will be speaking/signing his book (One Day the Soldiers Came; Voices of Children in War) at River City Books on Division Street. An amazing book on his experiences with children from war-torn areas.

7:30-9:30pm @ The Hideaway Coffeeshop and Winebar
CCC will host a meet and greet at the Hideaway wine bar down the street to discuss the new War Kids project with all who are interested. There will also be an art exhibit featuring the art we collected from Iraqi children during our trip in August, and a photography exhibit by Paul Corbit Brown, also on the trip.

Both are free and open to the public!
