Vermillion Editions Gallery Exhibit starts Friday at ArtOrg

ArtOrg is proud to announce the opening of the gallery exhibit “Vermillion Editions: An American Print Shop” on Friday, January 16 from 6 to 9pm.  There will be remarks at 7:30 from Vermillion Editions founder and Master Printer Steven M. Andersen.  The show will include original printed works from such artists as Don Hong-Oai, Red Grooms, Adja Junkers, Doug Argue, T.L. Solien, Sam Gilliam, and Donna Dennis. 

Steven Andersen rose quickly in his career to print for greats such as Jasper Johns at Universal Limited Art Editions in NY, and went on to set up print studios, teach and print at Cooper Union, Parsons, and Styria Studios.  At Styria, he printed such pop art icons as Andy Warhols “Mao” series and others.  In 1977, he returned to Minnesota to found Vermillion Editions Limited.  Vermillion Editions archive has been collected by the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
