St. Olaf Chapel Choir presents Vespers program: Thy Holy Wings
The St. Olaf Chapel Choir presents:
Vespers: Thy Holy Wings
Join the St. Olaf Chapel Choir for an evening of song, hymns, meditations, and prayers in our fall service of Vespers. We trace our theme, Thy Holy Wings, through readings and music, which will feature such anthems as Kenneth Jennings’ The Lord is the Everlasting God, Eric Whitacre’s i thank you God, and Incantations by Michael McGlynn. The words of Hildegard of Bingen, Susan Palo Cherwein combined with Scripture weave with liturgical song and prayer to create a worshipful evening.
The Chapel Choir will share this event with Elements of Sound, under the direction of Dione Peterson, Vocal Music Teacher and Liturgical Music Coordinator at Shattuck-St. Mary’s, and Instructor of Music at St. Olaf College. Elements will combine with the Chapel Choir for several pieces as well as offering The Wings of Your Love by Drennan and Martin for our worship.
Come, and join this worship and music experience that has become a tradition for the St. Olaf community.
