The St. Olaf Band Homecoming/Family Weekend Concert, conducted by Timothy Mahr '78, will feature Sergeant First Class Terrina Anderson '96 on solo clarinet.

A former president of the St. Olaf Band, Anderson has enjoyed a successful and busy career within the Army Band Program. She will play movements from Michael Daugherty's engaging "Brooklyn Bridge for Clarinet and Symphonic Band" and Malcolm Arnold's "Clarinet Concerto No. 2."

The band will open the concert with two standards of band repertoire, the Intrada and Overture of Gordon Jacob's "Music for a Festival" and Richard Wagner's moving "Trauersinfonie." A setting of the beautiful Irish air "Lagan Love" by Luigi Zaninelli and Paul Basler's "Carnival" also will be presented.

Completing the program will be one of Mahr's new works, "Heroic Valor," a patriotic work subtitled "A Set for Band on The American Calling."
