Sing along with the Bratlanders this Saturday!
If you know anything about Matt Arthur and the Bratlanders, you know that we're all about tradition. Not only do we draw from a hundred-year deep wellspring of American music for our inspiration and our setlist, but we also are dedicated followers of the traditional holidays peculiar to Northfield, Minnesota. From September's Defeat of Jesse James Days to February's Defeat of Groundhog Day festival, our mission as a band is to make each celebration resonate in the hearts of townies, tourists, and collegians alike.
Our first-weekend-in-December show is the longest-standing gig on the band's annual calendar. 2008 will be the sixth annual occurrence of what we like to call the "Scare Your Parents" show. Whether you've got family in town to attend the St. Olaf Christmas Festival, or if they're here to shop our historic downtown for holiday gifts, we encourage you to bring them down to Northfield's favorite pub for a night of sing-along fun. Please join us at the Contented Cow this Saturday, December 6 around 8:30 p.m. for a great night of rootsy rock & roll. Bring your parents, your song requests, and a couple extra bucks to tip the band!
P. S. Come down early to hear the lovely nordic sounds of Scandium, 6-8 p.m.
