Residents Gather for Tuesday Night “Conversation Drive” to Urge Northfield Community to “Vote No” on November 6
On Tuesday, August 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the First United Church of Christ, Northfield-area residents will gather for a “Conversation Drive” – a community event aimed at calling friends and neighbors in the area to urge them to “Vote No” on the proposed constitutional amendment that would limit the freedom to marry for committed, same-sex couples in Minnesota.
With three months until Election Day, Minnesotans all across the state are having conversations about what marriage means and how no one should be told it’s illegal to marry the person you love. Research shows the single most important thing people can do to defeat the amendment is to have conversations about why voting no is important to them. Minnesotans United for All Families – the official campaign working to defeat the amendment that would limit the freedom to marry – is working to spark one million conversations about why it’s so important to vote no this November.
