The Northfield Area Family YMCA’s Fall Family Runs—5K, Kids Run Fun and Obstacle Course—are just around the corner.
This family-oriented event is planned for Saturday, Oct. 27, at Northfield’s Riverside Park/Lions Park Pavillion/Veterans Memorial area. The 5K run/walk starts at 9 a.m., followed by the kids 1/2-mile fun run at 9:45, then the kids pumpkin obstacle course run at 10 o’clock.
Event day registration is from 8 to 8:45 a.m.
The route of the run/walk follows the paved path along the Cannon River, over the pedestrian bridge and on to the Mill Towns State Trail. Strollers will be welcomed on the run/walk.
Early-bird registration for the 5K run is $15 and is open until Oct. 19. After that, the cost jumps to $18. A T-shirt is included with registration. Proceeds go to benefit YMCA teen programming, for youths ages 11 to 14.
The kids fun run and obstacle course run are free for children. Kids who take part receive pumpkins.
