Open Door Nursery School Students Visit St. Olaf Prairie

Preschoolers visiting St. Olaf prairieIn spite of the chill and the rain, all four of our classes at Open Door Nursery School enjoyed venturing into the wetland and prairie area at St Olaf College. Our recent October visit was part of the relationship between the college's Biology department and ODNS. The visits were facilitated by St. Olaf students.

Each class experienced seeing waterfowl on the pond, luring worms from beneath rocks, blowing milkweed seeds into the air, and witnessing incredible Autumn colors as leaves were collected along the trails.

We are grateful that our pre-schoolers have the opportunity to visit this treasured nature area three times a year, Autumn, Winter and Spring. They delight in noticing the changes each season brings!
