Northfield Youth Choirs present "Gloria!"
Northfield Youth Choirs (NYC) will perform their winter concert, "Gloria!" on Saturday, Dec. 13th at 3 p.m. in Carleton College's Skinner Chapel. Admission to the concert is free; a free will offering will be collected.
More than 150 singers in seven ensembles will perform as individual choirs as well as a massed group. The choirs will perform selections from Bob Chilcott, Carl Orff, Benjamin Britten, and Northfield's Mary Carpenter Davis, as well as other holiday favorites such as "Let it Snow" and "Go Where I Send Thee."
"Come and be reminded of what is really important at this time of year, through the sounds of children's joyful voices," says NYC's Artistic Director Elizabeth Shepley.
NYC members enjoy weekly rehearsals, twice-yearly retreats, area performances and tours. The organization's choirs are divided by age, and singers of all levels of experience in grades 1-12 are welcome to participate. Scholarships are available.
