Northfield Youth Choirs to perform Spring Concert
Northfield Youth Choirs will perform their 22nd annual spring concert, "Bought Me a Cat," on Sunday, May 4th at 7 p.m. in St. Olaf College's Boe Memorial Chapel. The choirs will sing selections from their spring repertoire, including "I Bought Me a Cat" by Aaron Copeland, "Jabberwocky" by Carolyn Jennings, and "Comic Duet for Two Cats" by Rossini Gioacchino. Admission to the concert is free; a free will offering will be collected.
"We have sung to enthusiastic audiences who repeatedly exclaim how wonderful it is to see and hear young people singing glorious music, and what a positive impact their performance has on those who listen," says NYC Artistic Director Elizabeth Shepley. "We hope everyone who loves young people and music will come to hear the children sing this Sunday."
NYC members enjoy weekly rehearsals, twice-yearly retreats, area performances and tours. The organization's choirs are divided by age, and singers of all levels of experience in grades 1-12 are welcome to participate. For more information about the choirs, or about NYC's Encore!
