At 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 26th, the League of Women Voters of Northfield & Cannon Falls will present "Northfield District Education Update: Where We Are; Where We Should Be" in room 106 of the Northfield Senior Center.
The program will feature Charlie Kyte, Executive Director of the Minnesota Association of School Administrators and three members of the Northfield Board of Education: Diane Cirksena, Anne Maple and Kari Nelson.
Kyte will describe current education bills in the Minnesota State Legislature and their prospect for passage. Cirksena will summarize past education funding under Gov. Pawlenty and his proposal for future funding. Maple will outline Northfield's current special education costs and needs and Nelson will present an overview of Northfield School District's strengths and vulnerabilities in the current economic climate.
The League of Women Voters of Northfield and Cannon Valley welcome all members of the public to attend this important meeting about the present and future status of education.
