The Northfield Arts Guild Theater announces the upcoming production of THE FANTASTICKS, the longest running musical of all time. Considered a classical piece of musical theatre, the history of the show speaks for itself boasting a run of 42 consecutive years in New York! With music by Tom Jones and lyrics by Harvey Schmidt, audiences will recognize favorite songs from the show “Try to Remember” and “Soon It’s Gonna Rain.” This tale, full of magic and moonlight, is a story of young love and the quest to discover who we are meant to be. THE FANTASTICKS will be presented in Northfield’s Central Park.
Returning Arts Guild director Mishia Edwards, who last directed Jekyll and Hyde, will be teaming up with musical director Philip Biedenbender, choreographer Shari Setchell and stage manager Erin Knadler to lead the cast of eight. The cast includes Bryan Reed, Esme Etter, Chelsea Lloyd, Michael Domingues, Dave Flynn, Mickey Morstad, Charlie Black and Taylor Heitman.
THE FANTASTICKS will perform nightly at 7pm, June 6-8 and 12-14 in Northfield’s Central Park. An ASL performance will take place at the June 6th show. Please call the Arts Guild to request ASL. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors and are available for purchase at the Northfield Arts Guild office, by phone at (507) 645-8877 or online at www.northfieldartsguild.org. The Fantasticks is sponsored locally by The Contended Cow and Chapati.
