Mid-America Print Council Conference: Northfield tour

St. Olaf and Carleton colleges and local Northfield organizations will host exhibits and events all day Oct. 17 as part of the 2010 Mid America Print Council Conference that will bring together more than 500 artist printmakers from around the country to the University of Minnesota (and partnering institutions). The local events are free and open to the public.

Highlights will include printing with aluminum plates on a 6000-pound 50-inch-wide cast-iron litho press at Art.org, Day of the Dead Steamroller Prints exhibited at St. Olaf's Groot Gallery (at right), and unveiling "The Big Print" in Buntrock Commons at St. Olaf -- a project that will display on the three-story-tall wall in Buntrock Commons atrium the results of the traveling “Thousand Print Summer” event that printed the creations of 1,180 kids and adults.
