Born in Mankato in 1892 Maud Hart Lovelace wrote many books about growing up at the turn of the last century.  As a young girl, she kept diaries and scrapbooks that later helped her to write the Betsy-Tacy books for which she is best known. Maud also wrote several historical novels, including Early Candlelight, about life at Fort Snelling, and Gentlemen from England, which she wrote with her husband, Delos Lovelace.  The very knowlegable Minnesota History Center’s History Player will tell her story using props and artifacts.  The costumed History Players will engage children & families with  memorable life stories during an enjoyable 45-minute interactive program.  Items from the Northfield Historical Society will bring a local touch to the time periods!
