LWV / Northfield News Candidate Forum
The Northfield News and the League of Women Voters are joining forces to offer the voters of Rice and Dakota Counties and the City of Dundas an opportunity to evaluate candidates on Saturday, October 18, starting at 9:30 a.m.
The forum will take place in the Northfield City Hall and will be taped to be played on NTV and made available for organizations to replay at a later date. Jaci Smith, editor of the Northfield News, will moderate the forum.
The schedule for the event is:
- 9:30 Dundas council seats: Chad Pribyl and Nathan Ryan
- 9:50 Mayor of Dundas: Glen Switzer and John Zander
- 10:00 MN House District #25B: David Bly and Tim Rud
- 10:25 District #5 Rice County Commissioners: Jeff Docken and Mike Piper
- 10:45 District #1 Rice County Commissioners: Matt Drevlow and Jacob Gillen
- 11:05 District #1 Dakota County Commissioners: Joseph Harris and Doug Riles (Mr. Harris is unable to attend; however, Mr. Riles will be available to answer questions from the audience.)
- 11:10 MN House District #36B: Pat Garolfalo and Bev Topp
For those voters unsure of which house district or rice county district they reside, the website of the League of Women Voters will answer any questions; visit the “voting info?” section at LWVMN.org for all voting information, including your polling place location.

Handling of questions
Partnering with Northfield News on the LWV forums this year has been a plus. Editor Jaci Smith selected questions from the audience on specific topics, not just general ones that elicit generic responses. It was easier to compare/contrast.
