Keeping Hope Alive in the Parish of the Poor

Trost, a California resident, recently published "On That Day Everybody Ate: One Woman's Story of Hope and Possibility in Haiti." She will be in Northfield for three days, speaking at Northfield High School, and on the Carleton and St. Olaf campuses, in addition to the appearance on Sunday.

At 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 15 at the First United Church of Christ (UCC), Margaret Trost, founder of the What If? Foundation will share the story of how her search for meaning in her life led her to step out of her comfort zone to commit her life to changing the conditions of hunger in a desperately poor part of Haiti. The foundation provides educational scholarships and supports a summer camp in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The public is urge to attend the UCC presentation and to enjoy the "feeding program supper" following the program. There is no charge for the event.
