Her Honor: Lori Sturdevant Speaking on Rosalie Wahl at the Senior Center

At the Northfield Senior Center this Saturday, April 26th at 10:45 amMinneapolis Star-Tribune political columnist, Lori Sturdevant, will be speaking about her recent book “Her Honor: Rosalie Wahl and the Minnesota Women's Movement."  Books will be available for purchase from Northfield’s Monkey See, Monkey Read bookstore and there will be a book signing following the presentation.

Sturdevant’s latest book is set against the backdrop of the women’s rights movement and highlights Rosalie Wahl’s personal and professional journey. A champion of both civil rights and women’s rights, Wahl is credited with affecting the way her fellow judges saw the cases they decided. The first woman named to the Minnesota Supreme Court, she was appointed by Governor Rudy Perpich in 1977 and remained on the court until her retirement in 1994.  She passed away in July 2013.  Sturdevant shares with readers the lasting impact of Justice Wahl and documents the societal challenges experienced by Minnesota women in the late 20th century.

I hope you will consider attending.  This event is open to the public and we'd love to see you there!  We will be serving coffee, juice, and other treats!
