For the Bible Tells Me So

There will be a screening of the film “For the Bible Tells Me So” on Friday, May 16 at 7:00 in the assembly room of the First UCC Church, 300 Union Street.

Through the experiences of five very normal, very Christian, very American families -- including those of former House Majority Leader Richard Gephardt and Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson – the film depicts how people of faith handle, or sometimes tragically fail to handle, having a gay child. Provocative and entertaining, it reconciles homosexuality and a literal interpretation of Biblical scripture. The public is invited to view the film and to join the discussion afterward.
