Is there a superhero wannabe at your house? Check out Camp Invention, being offered from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., June 15 - 19 at the Northfield Middle School. This program is offered through Northfield Public Schools Community Services.

The Camp Invention program is a one-week STEM enrichment program that encourages kids to exercise their minds, not just their bodies, during summer vacation.

This year, one of the new curriculum modules features the science behind comic book superheroes. Kids entering grades 1 – 6 will participate in a series of hands-on projects that develops creative thinking, teamwork, science literacy and problem-solving skills. Five daily modules presented by local teachers highlight a variety of subjects, such as physics, engineering, environmental science or history. Camp Invention is learning disguised as fun.

The Camp Invention program has grown from modest beginnings in Akron, Ohio to include more than 1000 sites in 48 states. For more information or to register, call (800) 968-4332 or visit www.campinvention.org.
