Citizen Journalist Workshop Registration Due Today
Today is the last day to register for the Society for Professional Journalists’ a one-day workshop for “citizen journalists” in Minneapolis on Saturday, June 13, 2009. The workshop is designed to help everyone wanting to practice journalism to do so accurately, ethically and fairly. A goal is to help participants understand how responsible practices can increase citizen journalists’ reach and establish strong journalistic reputations in the community.
The workshops will explore journalistic ethics, the basics of media law, access to public records and meetings, standard and responsible reporting practices, and the use of technology. University of St. Thomas, 155 Murray-Herrick Hall, St, Paul, is the location of the workshop, which costs $40 (which includes lunch). Registration deadline is June 8.
