Calling All Writers! Free Writing Workshops to be Held at the Northfield Public Library
Submitted by Joan Ennis on Tue, 09/03/2013 - 11:43am
Rosanne Bane has been teaching writers at the Loft Literary Center for almost twenty years. In that time, she has refined her methods, built upon solid brain science, and recently distilled it all in her book Around the Writer’s Block: Using Brain Science to Solve Writer’s Resistance.
Her methods have helped all kinds of creative people, whether it’s creative writing, someone working on a new painting or writing a market plan. She will be offering two 2 hour workshops using her book on Friday, September 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Northfield Public Library.
The first workshop, Getting Started, from 10 to 12:00, will show you how to launch your writing and introduce you to the habits that will sustain your writing. The second workshop, The Creative Process, from 12:30 to 2:30, will cover the six stages of the creative process, and what “writing” looks like in each stage. There will be a half hour lunch break between workshops, when Roseanne will do book signings.
The workshops are free to participants, through funding from the Friends and Foundation of the Northfield Public Library. However, space is limited, and participants must preregister. You may register for one or both workshops. Call the library reference desk at 645-1802 to register, or register in person at the reference desk. To preorder a copy of Roseanne’s book, contact Jerry at Monkey See Monkey Read bookstore, 507-645-6700.
