Submitted by Teresa Tillson on Thu, 08/28/2014 - 12:17pm
Schoolhouse Apirary will present bee watching (in an enclosed observation hive) at Riverwalk Market Fair on Saturday, August 30. Learn about bee habits and efforts to keep beehives healthy and robust against colony collapse disorder from Laura Heiman, beekeeper. Alexander's Ragtime Brass Band, featuring two trumpets, a French horn, a valve trombone and a tuba, plays music ranging from the Baroque period to modern jazz. This small reprise of the hugely popular Vintage Band Festival will be a brass band treat.
Riverwalk Market Fair takes place Saturdays, June through October in Northfield's Bridge Square, 9 am to 1 pm, rain or shine. Each Saturday features a different combination of organic and sustainably grown produce from local farmers, artisan foods, seasonal flowers and a juried selection of the region’s top art and fine crafts. (Riverwalk will be closed Saturday, September 6, for Defeat of Jesse James Days).
