The Arts for Martin 10th Anniversary Community Choir

You are invited to join singers from around the Northfield community for our tenth evening of reflection on and celebration of the life of Martin Luther King, at Arcadia Charter School’s Arts for Martin, Friday, January 17th, 2014 at 7:00 PM. This is an inspiring evening, featuring singers, dancers, instrumentalists and actors from throughout the community, middle school to professional level.

Come and join the community choir. All ages and levels are welcome. We will gather for rehearsal at Arcadia on Tuesday, January 14th, 7:00 PM and Thursday, January 16th, 7:00 PM. The performance is at 7:00 PM Friday, January 17th at Arcadia (formerly ARTech), 1719 Cannon Road.

We’ll sing music from the South African and African American traditions along with our closing piece, written for the celebration by Dan Kallman. Call Bob Gregory-Bjorklund at 663-8806, ext. 212 with any questions.

Guest presenter is Cherif Keita, Professor of French and Francophone studies at Carleton College, speaking of "Nelson Mandela's Challenge to Me", and tying Mandela’s life to that of Dr. King.
