ArtOnWater Gallery Exhibitions Closing Saturday
Good things must come to an end, but at least we chose the longest night of the year* to close the exhibition.
'Impressions': The wonderful plein air oil paintings by Northfield artist mark Daehlin reflect his impressions of Northfield's iconic landscapes and streetscapes since he moved here last May. Original, framed oil paintings on canvas collectible from $160.
"...a favorite cup': Warren McKenzie taught that functional pottery can be affordable for everyone. His students have made Minnesota one of the few centers for functional ceramic art in the nation, many of these artists are internationally known.
Self-taught potter Colleen Riley and master kiln builder Donovan Palmquist live near Northfield and own Eureka Pots. Their wheel thrown, carved or incised pottery with beautiful vitreous colored slips and glazes, are fired at 2350 degrees in a soda atmosphere. Their work appears in galleries and art fairs throughout the region.
For this exhibition they selected a dozen of the best Minnesota-connected clay artists and brought their work together in this exhibition at ArtOnWater Gallery. We have continuously refreshed the stock of pots, cups and bowls throughout the month, more came Tuesday, so if you stopped in before, come back again for another look. Original art from $20.
Exhibition Closing Weekend begins Thursday and ends this Saturday nite with a refresments from 5-9 pm. Regular gallery hours are noon-8 pm. All work is for sale, gift boxes are available for the cups; make art a part of your holiday shopping and enjoy it the whole year around.
