An exciting juried artist and artisan show will celebrate its 9th year Father’s Day weekend at East Park in Zumbrota, MN. Art in East Park will take place June 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. Art in East Park is held annually during the Zumbrota Covered Bridge Music & Arts Festival; this years’ festival celebrates the 140th anniversary of Minnesota’s only covered bridge. The festival features kids’ games, live music, food vendors, sports tourneys, a grand parade, street dance and much more.
Art in East Park is a one-day event brings together an eclectic mix of the area’s leading local and regional artists. The public can meet and talk with the artists personally, asking questions about their art and inspiration. The artistic media represented include paintings, sculpture, photography, glass, wood, jewelry, fiber, collage, ceramics and more. There will be demonstrations throughout the day, including fiber and pottery.
Art in East Park is presented by the Zumbrota Area Arts Council and sponsored in part by the Zumbrota Economic Development Authority. The event appeals to family and friends as a free and fun weekend activity, as well as serious art buyers interested in enhancing their collections. There will be two bands playing in the band shell, Patchouli from 10- 12:30, and 2 O’Clock Jump from 1 -3:30, along with multiple food vendors. One of the most popular exhibits of the celebration is a presentation of art by the youth of the Zumbrota area. A photograph, exhibited last year by high school student Logan Langley of Zumbrota, is featured in this year’s Art in East Park publicity.
