Community Invited to Earth Day Contra Dance

Dancers at the Contra DanceCarleton College will host the third annual Northfield Earth Day Contra Dance on Friday, April 24, from 7 to 10:30 p.m. in the Sayles Hill Great Space. Featuring the music of Contratopia!, the dance free and open to the public. A voluntary donation of $5 per person will be requested at the door in support of environmental initiatives.

All ages are welcome and no prior contra dance experience is necessary to participate. The evening begins with a recommended lesson in contra dance at 7 p.m. Festive, swing-ready attire is encouraged.

First celebrated in 1970, Earth Day is intended to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the earth's environment. Earth Day is now observed each year by more than 500 million people and national governments in 175 countries.
