Ted Finneseth

Ted Finneseth, age 73 of Northfield, passed away Wednesday, May 07, 2008 at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield. Funeral Services will be 11 am Saturday, May 10th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Northfield with burial at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 pm at the Bierman Funeral Home of Northfield and at the Church on Saturday 1 hour prior to Services.
Theodore J (Ted) Finneseth was born to Adolph and Gertrude (Worms) Finneseth on July 29, 1934 in Calio, ND (Cavalier County). He attended school in Munich ND and then worked on various farms before joining the US Army. Ted served for three years from 1955 – 1958. He was stationed at Ft Leonardwood MO., Detroit MI, Anchorage AL, Fort Louis Washington and Camp Roberts CA. After the Army he worked at Schuler Elevator in Munich and than as a Relief Station Agent for the Great Northern Railroad. He was then employed at the Devils Lake Daily Journal in ND which later brought him to Faribault and his job at the Faribault Daily News where he worked in production for 20 yrs. After leaving the Daily News he worked at Foldcraft in Kenyon for 10 years before retiring in 1996. Ted married Marilyn Finneseth on November 20th 1976 and together they raised their combined family of 9 children. He enjoyed spending time with his family and there were plenty of children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews to joke around with. He loved to play cards, especially cribbage, going camping, fishing and to auction sales. He also loved to work with wood, making cribbage boards and wheelbarrows to mention a few things. You could always find him in the garage or in his shop fixing things to make them work better or adapting them to use for some purpose other than what they were intended.
Ted is survived by his wife and friend of 31 years Marilyn (Westhoff) Finneseth. His family:

Brothers-in-law: Darwin Rott, Bismarck ND, Paul (Marlyn) Westhoff, Deerwood, and Don Tollefson, Beaverton OR. Many nieces and nephews.
Ted was preceded in death by: his parents, his in-laws Fred and Adeline Westhoff. Sisters Lorraine (Harold) Morley and Marion Rott. Brother Palmer Finneseth and his brothers-in-law James Wills and James Kitch.
