Volleyball Association & YMCA Collaboration Offers Clinic - 3-5th graders Starts April 22nd

volleyballServe, Set, Bump, Spike! The YMCA is proud to announce our newest program collaboration with the Volleyball Association. This twice-a-week, clinic for kids in grades 3rd - 5th, will provide kids with the skills necessary to play well, exercise their bodies and have fun. Classes will be offered Tuesday and Thursday evening beginning April 22nd at the National Guard Armory 6-7:30 pm.

Clinic will be broken into two segments focusing on skills and technique and game time. Participants should bring knee pads, a water bottle and prepare to have fun!

We are pleased to announce, Doug Antoine has accepted the Head Coach position for our clinic. Doug has a four year degree in Recreation and has coached elementary school volleyball for many years in Worthington, Minnesota.

The YMCA is also offering Volleyball Coaching Skills- a two hour training for youth (high school and college) and others interested in learning the technique of teaching the sport. Sign up online or call 507-645-0088 for more information. This course is free but has limited space so sign up soon! Participants must be interested in coaching/instructing the Volleyball Clinic. Class will be held Monday April 21st 6-8:00 pm at the Armory. Sign up on our website, under “Sports & Recreation Programming” and “School Age Sports & Recreation Programs” and “Volleyball”.
