Don’t let the heavy machinery and ripped-up roads throw you, things are hopping in downtown Northfield this weekend!
Things really heat up Saturday with the LowBrow High Octane 3 hot rod art and car show at the Armory and along Division. It starts with a support-the-troops pancake feed at 8 a.m. (Armory) and concludes with the rockin’ rockabilly at the Reub at 8 p.m. In the midst of all that, the Historical Society is hosting an Outlaw Run –- as in motorcycles following the path of the James-Younger Gang when they high-tailed it out of here in 1876 -- that will depart Northfield around 9 a.m. and return around 7 p.m. That would be in plenty of time to take in The Loafers at the Tavern Lounge and/or the ‘60s serenades of Bonnie and the Clydes at the Cow.
Finally – round off your weekend with Politics and a Pint (6 p.m.) and Northern Roots Session (7:30 p.m.) at the Contented Cow.
So stroll the sidewalks, check on the progress of the road and river projects, do a little shopping and take in the happenings. Details on these and a full month of happenings are always available in the Northfield Entertainment Guide, distributed around town, in the gray sidewalk boxes and available online at northfieldguide.com.
