Waterford pulls a legal reversal, annexes Northfield
"Y'all thought you were so smart, dincha? 'Oh, we're Northfield, we got allll kinds of fancy lawyers. We can take over whoever we want...' Well did those lawyers bother proofreading the final document? Did all them PhD's think to check for someone doing a search and replace on Waterford/Northfield? Let me answer that for you: No. So who's annexing who now, huh? Yeah, didn't think so."
Thus spoke James (Fat Jimmy) Bergman at a press conference a short while ago after both parties signed what appears to be a binding legal document minutes after returning from an emergency in the hallway just outside chamber doors. Mr. Bergman had collapsed, suffering from what he said "...coulda been a mini heart attack or something." The ruckus outside the door occurred just a minute before the ceremonial signing wherein Northfield would officially annex Waterford Township.
After resuming, the participants were dismayed to discover that what they had signed contained all instances of Northfield and Waterford exchanged, changing "Northfield hereby annexes all of Waterford Township" to "Waterford Township hereby annexes all of Northfield forever and ever no takebacks."
Northfield's city legal team could not be reached for comment.
"Tractor's on the other acre now, isn't it?", said Bergman. "There's gonna be changes, oh yeah, there's gonna be some BIG changes around here. Speaking of which..." as he gestures towards city hall. "If I were you and I had any stuff in there that I valued, I'd go and get it. The wrecking ball will be here in 15 minutes."
"This press conference is over.", he said and walked off the podium.
We here at NorWaterford.org would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new uncultured overlords and to remind them that, as the digital hub of the city, we would be a valuable source of information as to which citizens may be troublemakers and where they might live.
