Theodore (Ted) Paro, age 79, of Northfield, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8th from 4 to 7 pm and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Theodore (Ted) Edward Paro, the son of Maurice and Dorothy (Kitzman) Paro was born on July 13, 1933 on a farm near Kenyon, MN. He attended school in Faribault. On July 12, 1958, he was united in marriage to Alice Broderick at the Annunciation Church in Hazelwood. After marriage, they lived in rural Northfield before moving to several different places including, St. Paul and Blaine. Ted and Alice moved back to Northfield in 1969 with their family. Ted worked for Jerome Foods and after his retirement he worked at the wayside rest area near the Big Steer until 2006.
Ted loved horseshows, rodeos, and westerns. One of his greatest joys in life was a week spent in 2009 on a ranch near San Antonio, Texas. He loved shopping and teasing people. Ted enjoyed watching movies and comedy shows on TV. His family was very important to him.
Ted is survived by his wife, Alice; two sons, Ted Paro (Janet Moore) of Crystal and James Paro of Northfield; four daughters, Theresa Paro, Patricia Paro and Toni Paro, all of Northfield and Joyce Paro of Faribault; four grandchildren, Chris (Kayla) Paro, Elizabeth Paro, Krissy Bass, and Michelle Schleicher; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jack (Josie) Paro of Virginia, Dick (Janice) Paro of Maple Plain, Dan Paro of Robbinsdale and Ron (Kathy) Paro of Faribault; three sisters, Jeannette Mathis of Idaho, Maureen (Dick) Byrnes of Zumbrota and Patty (Pete) Aronson of Michigan and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Tim; and one sister, Mary Jean Karow.
