ROBERT TAYLOR

Robert Taylor, age 91, of Cannon Falls and formely of the Northfield area, died on Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Randolph. Burial will take place at the Lakeside Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be on Monday, August 2, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Robert William Taylor, the son of William and Ardell (Turnacliff) Taylor was born on May 11, 1919 in Sciota Township, Dakota County. After his schooling, Robert worked with his father on the farm. Robert served in the U. S. Army during W.W. 11. After his military service to his country, Robert was united in marriage to Norma Duncan on March 13, 1948 in Cannon Falls. After their marriage Robert and Norma began farming near Dennison. Later they moved to Cannon Falls and finally to a farm near Randolph. Later then moved to Stanton, Robert began working at the elevator in Northfield and the John Deere dealership. Robert retired from Carleton College working in the maintance area.

Robert enjoyed fishing, camping and he loved music. Robert and Norma were members of the Good Sams Club and the Jesse James Wheelers. Robert was a long time member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

Robert is survived by his wife, Norma of Cannon Falls; two sons, Roger (Connie) of Dennison and Richard (Karen) of Ramsey; two daughters, Karen (Pete) Lundell of Rosemount and Sue Taylor of Westville, OK; 7 grandchildren, Todd Lundell, Kelly Malecha, Eric Lundell, Rebecca Howe, Carrie Bayless, William and Keely Taylor; 8 great grandchildren, Zach and Jordan Lundell, Charlie and Emily Malecha, Ethan and Zoey Bayless, Noah and Gavin Howe; brother, Paul Taylor of Buffalo; two sisters, Blanche Aldrich of Northfield and Doris (Jim) Thompson of Lincoln, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Leatrice Taylor of Randolph; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Walter and Warren Taylor.

Funeral arrangements are by the Bierman Funeral Home of Northfield.
