Melvin Gordon Otte, son of Milton and Dorothy Otte was born on July 24, 1938 in Northfield and grew up on the family farm. Mick graduated from Randolph High School in 1956. Mick decided early on in life that the life of a farmer was not going to be in his future. He left the family farm and joined the Air Force where he was stationed in Great Falls, Montana.
While stationed at the Air Force Base, Mick met and married his first wife, Patricia Czifro also known as Pat #1. They married November 1st, 1958 and had three children Ricky, Kristine and David.
Mick met and married Patricia Winter also known at Pat #2, February 12th, 1966 and had one child Shelly. They resided in Randolph and later moved to Waterford.
Mick then met and married Karen June 30, 1991 which they loved traveling together whether it was on one of the many cruises they took, visiting family and friends from out of state, Vegas or Karen riding along in the truck cross country.
Mick loved spending time with and bragging about his grandchildren. His next passion in life was driving semi-truck which he drove for more than 40 years over the road. Although he decided at a very young age that the farming life was not for him, he was still driving truck just two weeks ago for Kerry and Jay Otte on the farm he grew up on, now called the Triple O Dairy Farm.
Mick is survived by his children Ricky Otte of St. Paul, Kristine (Dick) Keeney of Oakdale, Dave (Sheila) Otte of Cottage Grove, Shelly (Kevin) Bauer of Dundas; grandchildren Jessica (Kevin) Willems, Candice Russell, Justin Otte, Colton Otte; great-grandchildren Hayley Kroll and Ryelan Willems: sisters Donna (Paul) Bresnahan, Mabel Jurgenson, sister-in-law Mary Otte, many nieces, nephews and relatives. Mick is preceded in death by his wife Karen, brother Bill and parents.
