June Twaites
Mrs. June Twaites, age 70 of rural Cannon Falls, passed away on Tuesday June 5, 2012 at her farm home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
June Kathleen (Duffy) Twaites, the daughter of Harry Edward Duffy and Ida Matilda Martha (Janisch) Duffy was born on September 29, 1941 in Minneapolis. She was raised in Minneapolis and Bloomington. She was united in marriage to David Paul Twaites on May 24, 1957 in Bloomington and they lived in Minneapolis until 1971 when they moved to their farm home in rural Cannon Falls.
June was an excellent cook and always raised a large vegetable garden that kept her family with fresh produce in the summer and canned vegetables in the winter. However, her hobby and passion was her flower garden. She was a den-mother for her boys in Cub Scouts. She loved kids and was the caregiver and rock of her family.
June is survived by her husband David; her five children David (Sandra) Twaites of Rochester, Annette Twaites of Northfield, William (Nancy) Twaites of Northfield, Allen (Patricia) Twaites of Faribault and Kathrine (Michael) Aughe of Cannon Falls; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother Leonard (Sharon) Duffy; two sisters Anna (Jean) McGraw of Bloomington and Gladys Leon of Aitkin and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings; George, Frank, Ray, Robert, Harry, Jim, Dorothy, Ethel and Ida.
Funeral arrangements are by the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield.
