Celebrate, Create, and Contribute!

This Saturday March 13, come celebrate the 50-year anniversary of the Northfield Arts Guild with a celebration for the whole family. Starting at 5:00 pm on Saturday, the Arts Guild will be opening its doors to the entire community for an art extravaganza. This night of family fun will include artistic activities for all including a potluck style dinner, live music, silent auction, live auction, live music and dancing.
Over the last 50 years, the Northfield Arts Guild has been supporting five different mediums of art including music, theater, visual arts, dance, and literature throughout the Northfield community. All proceeds from Saturday's event will be allocated toward the operating cost for events throughout the year.
The event this weekend will kick-off starting at 5:00 pm with beginning of the silent auction and family events. The Arts Guild will be opening its doors to all with free creative events. The Arts Guild will provide the opportunities for kids and families to test their skills at the ceramics wheel. There will also be puppet making and the chance for all attendees to contribute their personal artistic skill to a community mural.
Following the creative events, will be a potluck dinner starting at 6:00 pm, so don’t forget to bring a dish to share! After dinner the live auction will commence at 7:00 pm. Both the silent and live auctions will end at approximately 8:00 pm, however the party doesn’t stop just yet. Following the auction will be live music and dancing. Music will be courtesy of Peter Webb on piano from the group Sweet Jazz.
This year the items featured in the live and silent auctions will be pieces donated from local artists. This year as a tribute to all of the efforts of the Northfield Art Guild, artists came together and have each created pieces to be auctioned off at the special event. Items include canvas paintings by fifty local artists who have painted pieces with the theme of something that inspired them about the Art Guild. Adding to the items in the silent auction will be special mugs that have been created by five local ceramics artists. Live auction lots will include dinner packages at local restaurants, museum tours with Laurel Bradley, and Craig Perman photography. One of the hot ticket items from last year that will be featured again this year is bottomless wine and beer goblets from The Contented Cow.
The Arts Guild Auction has something for everyone this weekend. Whether you want to have family night or date night, this event would be a spectacular Saturday night out on the town for anyone. You can create art, eat, get a chance to purchase the latest and greatest art from local artists, listen to live music and dance the night away. Hope to see you there!
The Northfield Arts Guild is located at 304 Division Street South in downtown Northfield. For questions or more inquiries about Saturdays events please contact Northfield Arts Guild at (507) 645-8877.
